My experience of using iPad Pro

I have been using the iPad Air (5th generation) for a few months now, and it has quickly become one of my preferred devices. The appeal of the iPad Air lies in its perfect blend of performance, portability, and affordability. I didn’t require the full capabilities (or expense) of the iPad Pro, but I sought something more powerful than the standard iPad — and the Air perfectly meets that need.

From the moment I unboxed it, the design struck me as sleek and contemporary. The slim bezels and flat edges give it a premium feel, and its surprising lightness makes it easy to transport, whether I’m commuting or simply moving around my home. I chose the Starlight color, which is elegant without being overly ostentatious.

The display features a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina screen — bright, sharp, and vibrant. Watching videos on platforms like YouTube or Netflix is enjoyable, and reading ebooks or surfing the web is clear and easy on the eyes. Although it lacks the ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate found in the iPad Pro, the 60Hz display still provides a smooth experience for daily tasks.

One of the standout features is the M1 chip housed within. I didn’t anticipate a significant boost in performance, but I was pleasantly surprised. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is effortless, and even demanding creative applications like Procreate or LumaFusion operate smoothly. Whether I’m editing images, sketching, or switching between various apps, the iPad Air manages everything without lag.

Additionally, I utilize the Apple Pencil (2nd gen) and the Magic Keyboard, which convert the iPad Air into a powerful productivity tool. Taking handwritten notes feels remarkably intuitive, and the keyboard is excellent for extended typing sessions. For someone who enjoys both creative and academic pursuits, this combination is highly effective.

The battery life is impressive — I consistently achieve a full day of moderate usage, sometimes even longer. Plus, with USB-C charging, it integrates seamlessly into my ecosystem of devices.

Naturally, there are some drawbacks. While it may not completely substitute a laptop for demanding tasks, iPadOS still exhibits some peculiarities regarding multitasking and file management. However, as a portable solution for work, entertainment, and creative endeavors, the iPad Air excels.

In summary, the iPad Air provides a nearly Pro-level experience at a more affordable price, making it sufficient for the majority of users — myself included.
